-Listen to the sound of the week, 'Jolly Phonics' song on You Tube weekly and recap all previous sounds regularly. Try to join in with the words and actions. Find all the sounds in their name and maybe the names of family members.
- Learn to recognise your name like we do every day in Nursery. Look for the letters in your name when out and about.
-When you think your child is ready to write their name, don't forget to use a capital letter for the first letter only and then lower case for all the rest e.g. Drew. Writing can be in chalk, with paint, in a tray of rice, in shaving foam in the bath etc. You could have a go at writing shopping lists, letters, cards etc. (Grown ups, don't worry if the writing seems 'nonsense' as it is very important that they have the confidence to have a go).

begin-In Nursery you will be having a go at putting on your shoes and socks and coat. Keep practising at home and see if you can put your coat on without any help. Try taking your jumper on and off and putting the sleeves the right way. Can you dress yourself every day?
-Keep counting forwards and backwards. Try to count to at least 10 forwards, and backwards from 5. There are lots of counting songs to listen to. Some of them we have sung in Nursery and some may be new.
-When you are out and about, look out for numbers on doors, number plates etc. and say what they are, so that you begin to recognise your numbers to 10. NUMBERBLOCKS and NUMBERTIME on You Tube are great for learning numbers.
